The Warrens return for one last terrifying case.
Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for The Conjuring: Last Rites, with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprising their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren. This final chapter brings the iconic paranormal investigators back into action to confront evil forces one last time.
Joining the cast are Ben Hardy (Bohemian Rhapsody) and Mia Tomlinson (The Beast Must Die), both newcomers to the franchise.
A New Director Takes the Reins
While James Wan directed the first two Conjuring films, Michael Chaves returns to direct Last Rites after leading The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. Chaves has also directed other entries in the franchise, including The Curse of La Llorona and The Nun II.
David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick wrote the screenplay, sharing story credit with Wan.
A Billion-Dollar Horror Legacy
The Conjuring series draws inspiration from real cases that Ed and Lorraine Warren investigated. Earlier films tackled notorious hauntings such as the Enfield Poltergeist in London.
The franchise has become a horror juggernaut, grossing over $2 billion worldwide. Spin-offs like Annabelle (2014), The Nun (2018), and The Curse of La Llorona (2019) expanded the universe. The highest earner remains The Nun, which raked in $366 million globally. Its sequel, The Nun II, brought in another $269 million in 2023.
Release Date and Format
