Travis Scott has officially announced the release date for JackBoys 2, the long-awaited follow-up to his 2019 Cactus Jack Records compilation. The album will arrive this Sunday, July 13, 2025, at midnight.
Scott shared the news on social media Thursday night. The teaser promised,
“The Jack is back with 17 tracks full of trunk-rattling classics in the making.”
The new project is hosted by Texas rap legend Bun B. Moreover, several physical and digital editions are already available for pre-order on Scott’s website.
Breaking Tradition with a Sunday Drop
Interestingly, Scott has chosen a Sunday release instead of the typical Friday industry standard. Recently, other artists, such as Tyler, The Creator, have done the same. Tyler released his album Chromakopia on a Monday, hoping for more focused fan engagement during the week.
Similarly, Scott’s unconventional timing could generate additional attention for the album.
First Full Project Since Utopia
Notably, JackBoys 2 marks Scott’s first full-length release since Utopia in 2023. That album achieved massive commercial success, going double-platinum and becoming one of the year’s best-sellers.
The new release also follows the recent single “2000 Excursion”, featuring Don Toliver and Sheck Wes, which dropped just days ago.
A Star-Studded Lineup of Collaborators
While the full tracklist remains under wraps, fans can expect an exciting mix of collaborations. Among the expected features are:
- GloRilla
- Vybez Kartel
- 21 Savage
- Tyla
Additionally, Bun B’s involvement adds a classic Southern rap touch to the project. These collaborations, combined with Scott’s unique sound, are likely to create another chart-topping success.
Looking Back at JackBoys
The original JackBoys album, released in December 2019, included appearances from Rosalía, Lil Baby, Quavo, Pop Smoke, and Young Thug. It delivered the hit single “Out West”, which went triple-platinum.
Given this strong history, expectations for JackBoys 2 are understandably high.
